SUMMARY:STECELL Technologies - In Vivo panCAR™ Therapy Using Circular RNA for the Treatment of Autoimmune Disease
DESCRIPTION:Recently\, traditional ex vivo-generated chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR-T) cell therapies have shown success in the clinic for autoimmune diseases. However\, these treatments can be limited by manufacturing\, safety\, and accessibility challenges. The prospect of an in vivo CAR-T cell therapy\, without the need for patient cell isolation\, cell culturing\, and the safety risks associated with preconditioning regimens\, remains a therapeutic goal. \nOrna Therapeutics is a biotechnology company focused on the development of engineered circular RNA (oRNA®) and proprietary immunotropic lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). These components make up Orna’s innovative panCAR™ platform that drives CAR expression on the surface of immune effector cells after in vivo administration. In this webinar\, we provide a detailed overview of this non-viral platform that results in the safe and efficient in vivo reprogramming of immune cells. We share the advantages of this technology\, such as simplified production\, higher protein expression\, and better stability. The webinar will also include preclinical data demonstrating the utility of Orna’s anti-CD19 panCAR™ as a promising\, non-viral\, scalable\, and tunable therapy with the potential to transform treatment of autoimmune diseases. \n\n\nPresenters\n\n\n\n\n\nTommy Lee\, PhD\nAssociate Director\nDiscovery Biology\nOrna Therapeutics \nTommy Lee is an Associate Director at Orna Therapeutics within the Discovery Team. His team focuses on the pre-clinical model developments to use panCAR for autoimmunity.

SUMMARY:GlycoNet - GTA Webinar with Dr. Eric Brown: Starving Bacteria to Find New Antibodies
DESCRIPTION:Description \n\nIn this webinar\, Dr. Eric Brown\, professor at McMaster University and GlycoNet Integrated Services (GIS) node leader\, will discuss how screening compound libraries in minimal media can uncover new antibacterial leads\, particularly in drug-resistant Gram-negative pathogens. His talk will highlight chemical and genomic platforms used to study bacterial nutrient metabolism\, including work targeting biotin synthesis. Dr. Brown will also introduce the High-Throughput Screening (HTS) GIS node at McMaster University\, which supports this type of discovery research through custom assay development\, automated compound screening\, advanced data analysis\, and machine learning–enabled hit identification. Drawing on Canada’s largest academic compound collection and integrated robotic and imaging systems\, the platform enables efficient screening and follow-up testing to help identify and validate compounds with potential for new antibacterial therapies.
