BIOTECanada responds to Health Canada’s Gazette on modernizing clinical trials regulations

Health Canada’s work to modernize clinical trials, including clinical trial regulations and  guidance on decentralized clinical trials, is a positive step toward a more modern and competitive regulatory framework. BIOTECanada supports continued engagement and encourages alignment with trusted regulators such as the FDA and EMA to reduce burden, improve efficiency, and strengthen Canada’s position as a destination for clinical research investment. A globally aligned approach to decentralized clinical trials will be essential, as unique Canadian requirements could create added burden for sponsors and weaken Canada’s competitiveness.
