BIOSPAIN is the largest biotechnology event organized by a national bioindustry association in Europe and one of the largest in the world by the number of one-to-one meetings (4,500) and companies participating (1,065) and one of the most important annual events in the biotechnology / biopharma sector in the South of Europe. The event consists of a biotech and scientific congress with conferences and plenary sessions by international expert speakers, an investment forum embedded within the program, a large trade exhibition and an important partnering event organised by ASEBIO in partnership with BIO’s one-on-one partnering™ system (the organisers of BIO Convention) and local partners. The last full in-person edition of Biospain in 2025 drew over 2,400 delegates and 1,065 companies and institutions and 140 investors. There were over 35 countries represented in total, with large delegations from the UK, France, Portugal, the USA, Switzerland, Latin America and Canada, among others, representing the international participants almost 45% out of the total number of attendees. The trade exhibition area displayed over 300 exhibitors. Plenty of networking opportunities take place during the event and at the evening receptions. Through the partnering session, more than 4,500 one-on-one meetings were held, which makes it the 3rd largest business and technology transfer partnering events in Europe.
