[OTTAWA] Following BIOTECanada’s Annual General Meeting, BIOTECanada is pleased to announce the appointment of five new members to its Board of Directors.
The new directors bring a strong mix of leadership experience across Canada’s biotechnology and life sciences ecosystem, with expertise spanning company growth, investment, commercialization, and global partnerships. Their appointments further strengthen the Board’s role as BIOTECanada works to advance the conditions Canadian biotech companies need to grow in Canada, attract investment, and compete globally.
We are pleased to welcome these outstanding leaders to BIOTECanada’s Board of Directors,” said Oliver Technow, Chair of the Board of Directors. “Their experience broadens the perspectives on the Board and will help ensure BIOTECanada continues to be guided by leaders who understand the realities of building, financing, and growing biotech companies in Canada.
Joining BIOTECanada’s Board of Directors are:

· Owen Roberts, CEO, Centre for Probe Development and Commercialization (CPDC)
· James Guy, Country Lead, Canada and General Manager Specialty Care, Sanofi
· Nikhil Thatte, Partner, Lumira Ventures

BIOTECanada thanks departing Board members, Norma Biln (Augurex), Brigitte Nolet (Roche), and Ali Tehrani (DCx Bio) for their service and contributions to the association. Together with the rest of the Board, they were instrumental at shepherding the association through a period of significant change.
